Holiday Cake Class with Andrea - Dec 10, 1-3:30pm
Join Andrea of My Mixing Bowl in creating this bright and fun mini holiday cake!
Class date & time: Saturday, Dec 10 from 1-3:30pm
This workshop is geared towards those with little to no experience. It will cover buttercream basics and easy piping techniques with all cake, buttercream, tools and supplies ready for you. Each student will go home with a one of a kind 6” Christmas themed cake sure to wow friends and family, and a copy of Andrea's delicious buttercream recipe!
Techniques covered in this class:
- How to stack cake layers and apply a crumb coat prior to frosting.
- How to apply buttercream and use a scraper to achieve a smooth finish.
- Live demonstration on making chocolate ganache and how to apply it as a drip around your cake.
- How to pipe buttercream borders around the top of your cake and apply sprinkle and chocolate accents.
Classes are held at Cookie Couture (8A, 1323 44 Ave NE Calgary) and are scheduled for 2.5 hours, although they can go over or under depending on the pace of the group. Complimentary coffee and tea are available, and students also receive 20% off any in store purchases the day of the class. Please arrive up to 10 minutes early to get settled in.
All classes are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another date. Spots are transferrable to another person for the same date and time, and any changes must be communicated to Cookie Couture prior to the class.
